My first time leaving the country: to Cabo San Lucas.

As someone who never traveled outside their home state until I turned 21, I wouldn’t believe you if you told me I would be leaving the country anytime soon. When my boyfriend’s very generous parents invited me to stay at a luxury resort with them in Mexico, I began filling out paperwork to get a passport ASAP. And, luxurious, it was! The resort we stayed at was Le Blanc Spa Cabo. I felt like a celebrity as soon as we left the Mexican airport all the way up to being dropped back off to airport on our last day! Le Blanc provided a shuttle bus to pick us up as soon as we landed. I really appreciated this as I was very wary and cautious as to what awaited us as we stepped off the plane. Once we got to the resort, the employees took our luggage, served us a sweet drink, and placed a freshly steamed warm towel around our necks to relax! Once we got our check-in settled, they escorted us to our room where our luggage was waiting for us.

The view from our room

We were introduced to our very own personal butler! Her name was Brenda and she was such a sweet girl! She gave us a tour of our room; it had a king sized bed, a flat screen tv, a mini bar with unlimited beverages, a snack drawer that got replenished daily, a balcony with an amazing view, and a huge bathroom! The shower was a walk-in and also had a waterfall type of shower head. The bathroom also had a nice bathtub that Brenda informed she would draw for us if we ever requested it. The floors, walls, and countertops were all made of marble. It was like walking through a fantasy house! I was so impressed with how beautiful and big our room was! If I didn’t have so much more waiting for me outside, I wouldn’t mind just staying in the room the whole trip! This resort was all-inclusive and had about 8 restaurants.

On our first night, we ate at their pizza place where we were served our own personal pan pizzas. It was the fanciest pizza I ever had. For breakfast, we either would order room service, eat at their seaside restaurant, the cafe, or their international breakfast house. The room service was so tasty! Definitely better quality than I had expected. I’m a picky eater so it was hard for me to pick something on the seaside menu because it was mostly seafood. But, I ended up trying Eggs Benedict for the first time there and now I am a fan! Their International Breakfast House was also delicious! It was a buffet and I ate more croissants there. We were lucky enough to visit the cafe on International Donut Day because they had all sorts of yummy deserts and donuts to try. My favorite place to eat for dinner is a tie between their Asian and Italian restaurants. The Alfredo at the Italian is to. die. for. The best pasta noodles ever!!! I can still taste how amazing they are as I’m typing this. SOOO good. The Asian restaurant had AMAZING sushi, baos, and fried rice. I would just want to shamelessly order everything on the menu there. I also went out of my comfort zone and ate at a Lebanese restaurant they had there and it was surprisingly okay! The food at this resort was just so scrumptious and incredible!

Now, let’s get on to the activities. Le Blanc was right on the ocean. Such amazing breath taking views! Unfortunately, due to how strong the waves of the ocean are, we couldn’t take a swim in it. But, that was okay! Because they have about 6 pools and 2 jacuzzis to make up for it! I preferred to take a dip once the sun was setting because I tend to sunburn badly in direct sunlight and there wouldn’t be anyone else in the pools during that time. But, during the day, just relaxing under the shade of the umbrella by the pool with unlimited drinks was enough for me! I also loved to warm up at night in the jacuzzis. The resort also sets up different events and games throughout the day. I was really excited once I saw a Mexican Bingo tournament was scheduled that week and volunteered to play. I also participated in a Spanish class and did early morning yoga.

Relaxing poolside

Even though the yoga had me breaking a sweat, it was on top if the resorts terrace looking out onto the ocean. So, the beautiful view was worth it and all together, it was so calming. My boyfriend and I also went out to some of their open mics and DJ performances. I’m too shy to dance or anything, but it was definitely a vibe to be there. My most favorite thing of all and the thing I was looking forward to the most going there was the spa! If I could spend my whole time just getting a massage there, I so would have! I originally had just scheduled 1 massage there but after that first one, I needed to schedule another. My masseuse was named Petra, and she was amazing at her job and was so friendly! During the service, that was the most relaxed I had ever been in my life! I felt as though the whole world disappeared and I was just floating in space! It was so calming and enjoyable; I never wanted it to end. It was the first time I ever had a professional massage and that experience alone made the trip for me.

Enjoying the ocean during the sunset on my last day

And on top of all of these exciting and fun things, I really want to mention and highlight how excellent the service and employees were. Like I said, the whole week I felt famous and it was all because of how you get treated being there. From our Butlers, Brenda and Fernando, to the pool boys! Everyone there makes you feel like royalty! I really appreciated the employees referring to me as señorita, and the pool boys calling my boyfriend and I amigos. Every employee just made me feel right at home. It was my home for a week and I wish I could have stayed there forever! I am so excited to go back in future! Before leaving, I knew I was going to miss this place so I tried to soak it all in as I could. Le Blanc Spa Resort Cabo was my first time exploring outside of America, and it will hold a special place in my heart forever! I will always cherish the memories I made there and all the people I had the pleasure of meeting.
